Coalescence Chronicle

Call me Galahad-X and this is their story…..

I mounted my grand peco, geared up my thick brazen armor snugly, and kissed my cross. The four division are already stationed behind the walls of the agit and were preparing for the onslaught, yet their leaders were not there. The guild leaders have conferred with each other atop the citadel were they can see a full view of the enemy lines along the field and they set plans for the defense. There was a problem, one division under Pj Blog lacked persons, Lord Obelisk, Fuujin, Miska, Kaiser were not there. And Sir Jonathan the Paladin was riding through and fro around asking for Mishka along the hubbub. Proffessor Win, beside him was Sakura Naomi a lord knight, adviced everyone to wait, The High Priests were now ready except for Fuujin and Mishka which were absent .

The drums outside were now pounding hard, the archers and the Guardians, were atop the ramparts, readying their bows, dark clouds were now swirling overhead the skies of Brittonia. I am with my division under Pj Blog.

Each five of our division has two hundred guild warriors, both long range and melee, and these divisions were set in different quarters behind the walls of Yessnelf agit. The other four division were under Michelooter, Thunderbolt, Hikaru Mitchristien and Huiniz.

This is how the each division was organized, it was packed in defensive square formation, like an ancient army standard formation, but it is a conglomeration of many type of warriors. The front line of this square were posted by lord knights and swordsmen, bristling spears covered this line; the flanks also were guarded by this melee warriors with their peco peco and serve as cavalries for the division. This type of formation would display a heavier front and the sides included. The rear of this square were covered by paladins devotional type as a kind of support to the other members. Each of the warrior classes within the square has its own leader in it. Lady Xandra a Lord knight leads the knights on Michelooters division. While Umi Ryuzaki a paladin controlled the paladins at its rear.

Inside this square were the long range attacker, wizard, snipers and a mixture of thief class, assassin cross and stalkers, Ruikoku leads this stealth class. Crusaders of grand cross type were next in the front line, usually flank by sacrificial paladin. I belong to this line. Next to my line where the monks and the champions and down further were the priestly class.

Once the battle has started the leadership of the division will be shifted from the guild leader to the guild professor. They were the once who really directed the guild in actual engagement.

The army of warriors nowadays is different from the ancient. During the past, armies were lead by what they called generals, whose only knowledge is confined to warfare. This type of leadership has loopholes in it, which had effected the many loss of lives by waging useless wars that should not have to occur during the past, also these type of armies could easily be welded by a tyrant and were very dangerous. I saw one flying old parchment in the gloomy castle of Gliest Heim, snatch it from the air, scaring the evil spirit which possessed it, and read its content. I think what I have read at that time is a kind of tenet for an ancient professional warrior written by some Karl a chieftain in a land called Gaul .

What the ancients should do is to put professors and scholars within their organization as leaders so that it could think aright. This is what the present army are doing now. Professors and scholars directs the decision when to attack, or is it in the moral right to do so; further they know the strategies of the past. They were intellectually endowed individual, we may called them soldier scholars in a right sense. They are like double edge blade which will never missed its target because it wouldn’t strike blindly.

Scholars were at the center of the square formation, were they can control the movement of the division during the charge. This leader is responsible of the safety of all the members of this type of formation. Everyone has a degree freedom, in a sense that real authority is absent; everyone can speak what they think is right for the good of the guild. Yet during battle they put their trust on the guild’s epitome of conscience, the scholar. The guild’s organization is democratic as a whole.

To be continued…..
